Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan

Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan

Waldorf Astoria Shanghai Qiantan is the brand’s newest landmark property in Shanghai. The hotel features 204 spacious and well-lit guest rooms, including 27 luxury suites, with entry-level rooms starting from 52 square meters. It offers two signature restaurants, an exclusive chef’s private dining space, and a lounge—designed to create a serene and comfortable environment for guests.

Lobby & Reception Area

The lobby reception area adopts a symmetrical central-axis layout, complemented by a custom dark-brown solid wood reception desk. The desktop is inlaid with abstract patterns and outlined with brass detailing along the edges.

In the seating area, chairs are upholstered in warm off-white velvet, paired with brass armrests and legs, featuring smooth and natural lines. The coffee tables showcase textured glass tops supported by metal frames, creating a bright and refined interplay of light and shadow.

Signature Restaurants & Private Dining

The hotel’s two signature restaurants and chef’s private dining space each express distinct design characteristics.

On the first floor, ARAME features dining tables with light-gray marble tops paired with light-toned solid wood chairs. The chair seats are upholstered in off-white linen fabric, presenting a clean and understated elegance.

At the top-floor Fucheng Chinese Restaurant, custom-made solid wood screens are outlined in gold accents. Seating is upholstered in vintage-style velvet with deep, muted tones, creating a refined and composed atmosphere.

Yiting Lounge

Yiting Lounge is designed as a social gathering space. Lush green plants divide the lounge into semi-private island seating areas. Retro-style green rattan chairs are paired with beige linen cushions, while perimeter booth seating is upholstered in deep green velvet with brass armrests, echoing the surrounding greenery and enhancing the cohesive aesthetic.

Guest Rooms

Each guest room measures 52 square meters or more. A light-gray upholstered sofa is placed by the window, complemented by a light wood-paneled feature wall that harmonizes with the solid wood coffee table. The coffee table is topped with natural marble featuring unique veining and supported by brass legs.

The minibar is concealed within a green solid wood sliding cabinet. The bathroom adopts a three-zone separation layout, with a pearl-white marble vanity top paired with a solid wood cabinet base, achieving a minimalist yet refined aesthetic.

For this hotel furniture project, Luxefurn did not pursue luxury materials for their own sake. Instead, the design integrates the brand’s identity into every detail. From the velvet seating in the lobby to the beds and sofas in the guest rooms, the furniture balances aesthetics and functionality while maximizing comfort. The goal is to provide guests not only with a sense of ceremony and refinement, but also with genuine physical and mental relaxation.
